PRESIDENT’S
MESSAGE
DAVID E.
ZELDIN, M.P.S., CFE, CFC, CSC, DABFE, FACFE
I hope you are enjoying the last
few weeks of Summer, while you make plans to attend another
interesting and enjoyable LICFE meeting, while you earn TWO CPE
CREDITS. The evening, on September 20th, will begin with the
Westbury Manor's now famous cocktail hour, at 6:00PM.
We are presenting two very distinguished speakers from Lexis-Nexis.
Ken Jewell, Esq., is a Risk Management Consultant and Mr. Scott
Jackman, is an Account Executive, with Lexis-Nexis.
We are also presenting Don
Wadsworth from the National Fraud Center, which is now part of
Lexis-Nexis.
For the
Chapter members who are also members of ALDONYS, I am sure you
will remember the enjoyable presentation that Scott gave about
five years ago, when he was the Northeast Regional Manager of
CDB Infotek. Ken and Scott will be giving a Power Point and live
internet presentation. Feel free to bring one of your toughest
research cases with you! As a show of support, Lexis-Nexis has
offered to be a Corporate Sponsor that evening and make a
substantial financial contribution to the Chapter in addition to
bringing several paying guests to our dinner.
For those of you who like to plan
ahead, the Special Guest Speaker at the November 15th meeting
will be Mr. Henry I. DeGeneste, Senior Vice President and
Director of Worldwide Security, at Prudential Securities. Mr.
DeGeneste is a highly sought after speaker and I am honored that
he will join us. Henry will be speaking about Securities Fraud.
Prior to joining Prudential, Henry was the Superintendent
(Chief) of Police, of the Port Authority of NY and NJ. The Case
of the Month will be presented by Chapter Member Lisa Burnett,
CFE. An Executive Director at Estee Lauder, Lisa will speak
about how being a CFE helped her foil a Product Diversion case.
I want to thank all of the LICFE
volunteers, who made the Chapter look so professional, in our
role as a co-sponsor and exhibitor at The 11th Annual Fraud
Conference and Trade Show.
Finally, if you were at the
conference and thought Malcolm Mills was walking funny, come to
the meeting and I'll tell you about the JETSKI trip we took from
Bellmore to the Statue of Liberty and around Manhattan!
Very truly yours,
David E. Zeldin
President
